Problem Note 32611: SAS® Help and Documentation shows the message "Preparing index for first use...." every time it is opened
When you open the SAS Help and Documentation window, SAS shows the message "Preparing index for first use....." This is normal behavior for the initial opening in the SAS session, but should not happen each time the documentation is accessed.
To see this behavior, click Help ► Help and SAS Documentation.
You will see an animated hand writing the text "Preparing index for first use..." in a small dialog box.
The workaround is to open the Help window, and then instead of closing it, minimize it for the rest of the session so that it does not have to be reopened.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
The SAS Help and Documentation prepares the index for first use every time it is accessed. This should only be done once when it is first accessed.
